How to install the part?

BEST ANSWER: Troy,
I was very apprehensive about dealing with the airbag in the steering wheel. My buds told me I was nuts for doing this. I surfed the Lexus blogs on the internet for help. A guy in Russia posted a pictorial "how to". The job is very easy and takes less than one hour. Don't forget to disconnect the house battery located in the sub trunk area. Some bloggers also recommend a waiting period for everything to depower. I did not disconnect the EV batteries, but some bloggers also recommended that as a precaution. Research this procedure for your own safety. Blowing yourself up with an airbag is not a good epitaph. There are three clips that hold the airbag in place, each with an access port. The trick is to use tools that will not mar the plastic. The retention clips spread open with a flat screwdriver (or two) and a little finesse. Since the air bag is spring loaded at each anchor pin, it just pops out of the locked position - one pin at a time. You are not trying to remove the clips - just spreading them open. I did not disconnect the electric detonation cable but placed the airbag clear of the opening. Swapping the control lever is straight forward.....undo the screw etc. Replacing the airbag is simple. Just line it up and push/pop it into the spring clips. Do not force anything! Reconnect the battery and prepare for a dashboard light show while everything reboots. A factory Lexus workshop manual would be the best solution for 'how to". One day CT200h manauls will be reasonably available to consumers. Good luck.
