What is a Hood Release Cable?
This is the cable that connects the hood release lever on the interior of the car to your hood latch.  When you pull the lever, it pulls the hood cable, and releases the latch.  When it breaks, it usually leaves people baffled as to how they will ever open their hood again.  If the original cable broke on the inside of the vehicle, you can grab whats left of the cable with plies and pop the hood quite easily.  If the OE hood cable broke at the hood latch, it requires a different game plan.  Usually somebody has to sneak an arm up from the bottom of the car and pop the latch with a screwdriver. It isn't easy, but it is one of the few options available.

Can I replace a Hood Release Cable myself?
Usually opening the hood is the toughest part, so if you can get your hood open with the broken cable still in the vehicle, then you can probably swap out a cable as well.
