Symptoms of an EGR Valve malfunction: It is possible to diagnose some EGR valve problems. Consult your vehicle's repair manual and follow all precautions when performing any type of diagnosis.

The EGR valve or Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve in your vehicle is a critical part of the emission reduction system. The EGR valve uses vacuum from the induction system or a signal from the computer to open a passage and allow exhaust to re-enter the incoming air-fuel mixture.
