Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks!
Product review for WES00255. This is the old switch we've removed from an Audi. It's a 2007 A4. Door panel's right here, and this is the rear passenger's door.
Here's the part from 1A Auto out of the box, and you can see it's a very good replacement. It's not quite exact, but I think you're going to have a hard time. Your passenger's going to have a hard time knowing. It is going to fit in there.
Appears like it fits in there correctly. The connection is the same. The only differences is, you can see, that this switch is just a little bit deeper. The new switch from 1A Auto is a little bit deeper, but you won't even be able to see that. Then, this lip here is just a slightly different shape. This could have been that Audi may have had a couple different designs, so this switch may be from one manufacturer, and this may be related to switch that's from a different manufacturer.
The new switch looks like it'll go right into place. It does. Like I said, from the use point of view, it's an exact replacement.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the power window switch. We're going to be working on the front driver's door on this 2007 Audi A4, same for any '05 to '08 A4, and the switch is the same for other models but the procedure may be a little bit different. For this, you'll need a new switch from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver both regular and small, Phillips screwdriver, T20 Torx driver, and, depending on the condition of your panel, you might need some pliers, glue, hammer, and a flashlight, and you'll see how we use those in the video.
There should be a panel covering your battery. Remove that, and then disconnect the negative terminal on your battery.
Remove the trim panel using your flat blade screwdriver. Then locate the six Phillips head screws that hold the door panel on. There's one underneath the panel, four behind the trim panel you removed, and one underneath the arm rest. There should be a cap that you pry off to access the screw. Remove the six screws using your Phillips head screwdriver. The bottom screw sometimes doesn't come out. You can still remove the panel without taking it out.
Now, unclip the panel. Sometimes plastic clips may come loose and fall out. We'll show you what to do with those later. Carefully pull the panel up and off, remove the door handle cable, and then use your flathead screwdriver to loosen and remove the harness from the window motor. Finally, remove the speaker harness from the speaker.
If the screw on the bottom of the panel didn't come out, use a pair of pliers to remove it. You might need to use a hammer to tap the clip back into the door. You might also want to glue in any clips that fell out during the panel removal.
On the back of the door panel, you'll want to unplug your power window switch. There's just a little tab that you press and pull that out, and then nine T20 Torx screws hold the arm rest in place. Now you can remove that arm rest and flip it upside down, and you can see the switch very easily. Four tabs hold the switch in place. You want to work a small screwdriver in there very carefully, don't pry too much. Just pry just enough to come up and out and remove the switch.
On the left is the old switch and on the right is the new one from 1AAuto.com, which will fit just like the original. Push the new switch into place. Put the arm rest back in place on the door panel and then turn around onto the back side, and we'll fast-forward here as we just put those nine screws back in and tighten them up. Reconnect the harness.
Reinstall the speaker wire harness and the power window harness, and reattach the door handle cable. Make sure the lip of the door panel sits inside the groove of the door. Push the panel down firmly, and then lock all other clips back into place. Reinstall the six Phillips head screws. Finally, clip the trim piece back into place. You can now reconnect your battery and replace the panel.

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the rear passenger window switch. We do it on the right hand or passenger side. It's the same for the left hand driver side as well. This is a 2007 Audi A4. This procedure's the same for A4s from 2004 to 2009. Items you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver, T20 Torx driver, and a small flat blade screwdriver.
Disconnect your battery. On this car there should be a panel on top that you take off a couple of fasteners and lift it up and off. Then a 10mm wrench, loosen and remove the battery cable.
Either use a flat blade screwdriver, or you can just kind of reach back here and pull this trim panel off. Just pull it straight out and work your fingers under, and then it comes forward at the back. Four screws hold it in. There's one up under here and then one here, here, and here. A Phillips screwdriver will remove those. It's a little difficult. Sometimes you just have to feel for the screw once you have the right angle. There it is. We'll just fast-forward as we remove those fasteners.
Then just reach underneath. This ones not even clipped in. You should reach underneath and pull and they'll pop out, but obviously this door panels been off before so it just comes off. There are clips at the top. Then you should just be able to pull it right up and off.
Pull the door panel out and then your door handle cable here, just pull it out of the clip. Then, just unhook it. On the speaker, there's two tabs that you push in. Then, on this, there's a tab on the back side that you have to push really firm with your finger and pull down. You want to disconnect the switch and then remove the nine T20 screws that hold the arm rest in place. Press the tab and just pull out. We'll just fast-forward as we remove those fasteners. Just lift up and take your arm rest out.
Remove the switch. Four tabs hold it in. I'm going to apply pressure this way and then work my screwdriver in the back here and try and - oh, it just came right out. That's not a big deal. The amount of pressure and it popped out and actually goes this way. This is the old switch anyways. It would still work if it needed to.
On the left is the old switch, the original switch from the vehicle. On the right is the new switch from 1A Auto. You can see they're pretty much the same. They will install, or the switch will install and function just as the same as the original.
The new switch looks like it will go right in to place. It does. Put your arm rest back in place and then re-install the nine T20 screws. We'll just fast-forward as we tighten up those fasteners. Re-connect your window harness. Put it in place.
Re-installation: reconnect your speaker harness, the module harness. Again, that clip goes towards the back. Bring the panel up, reconnect the door latch cable. Just hook it in and then push this in to place. This protrusion on the door panel goes into this grove, and then this hooks over there so just lift the panel up into place. Hook the front in. Push it against the window and down, and then lock these two top hooks in and then all the rest of the clips.
Then you've got to try and put it up in there in the right angle. Then hopefully you find the hole the first time. Then this hooks into the back. Just make sure all your clips are in place. Sometimes these will pull out. Sometimes they'll pull out and get stuck on the clip. Just pull it off the clip and push it back into the door. Clip that in place. Peek in behind. Make sure they're all going into the right hole.
Reconnect your battery. Tighten it up with a 10mm wrench, and then reinstall the panel that should be there.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
