Mirrors are Great/Beware They May Not Fit

I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 3500 and I purchased these mirrors because I needed the power fold option so I could get my very wide truck into my garage. I called 1A Auto to confirm if these mirror did in fact fit my truck. They said they did. My truck came from the factory with non-electric mirrors. The old style chrome trucker mirrors on it, but all the wiring harnesses for the power mirrors are there. All I had to do was get the control switch and plug them in. The mirrors arrived and they are made very well. I may add that the instructions leave much to be desired, but using common sense you can figure it out. I installed the mirrors and ran the accompanying control wires for the folding option. This was a little difficult getting the wires from the door through the accordion style hose connector that goes from the door to the cab. Once the wires were run the rest of the installation is pretty straight forward until you bolt the drivers side mirror on and find out the top stud and nut h

These mirrors fit perfectly to my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500. Mirror adjustment and Folding function is very smooth. Amazing rear and blind spot view compared to the tiny OEM mirrors I had. The build quality is easily as good as OEM. Extremely happy with this purchase.

But I didn't give up and searched Turbo Diesel Register's forum and found good words about Trail Ridge and 1A Auto. Installed and folding at the touch of a button. Fantastic. They work great and no more getting lazy and not getting out and walking around the truck to fold in the mirror. I was going through woods/heavy brush trying to keep up with my friend on his ATV, big mistake, when I accidently hit a limb on the driver's side while watching the passenger side! It broke the glass and the plastic so it was hanging loose. I am glad to have found 1A Auto and these mirrors. They were made in Taiwan not mainland China ! Big plus in my book. Also I can not say enough good things about 1A Auto's service people. Thanks 1A Auto.

Firstly, I love my new mirrors. There is no "controller" per se, but there is a push-push switch and a wiring harness to control the in- out operation. The switch is rectangular and black and they suggest putting it on the knee bolster. Mine is a '95 and I thought it would be a little out of sight lower down there and I wanted it to be more obvious so I wouldn't forget it was there when I go through the woods where I wiped out my old towing mirror. So I machined a small saddle block from some black Delrin and mounted it to the top curved edge of the knee bolster toward the left. Where ever you mount it, you will have to cut a rectangular hole for the switch. FYI, it does not automatically fold out with the ignition switch. I think I read on one of the forums where someone did that but not sure. I think all it would take is a relay. Good luck.

Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly.

I thought I was lucky to just find power folding mirrors for a truck that old. But they don't have turn signals or heaters.
