Long story short. I bought some bad struts online, was told by alignment guy they were bad at the top plate Seller would not stand behind them. I called and the 1A associate guided me to the right struts for me and I got them, installed them, aligned the car and am really happy that my Element rides like new. The mechanic AND the alignment guy thought they were better manufactured and with better components than the ones I got from COMPLETESTRUTS on eBay. PLEASE DO NOT EVER GET ANYTHING FROM THEM, THEY ARE GARBAGE. The 1A associate explained to me the long relationship 1A has with their factory that assembles their products and it made my decision to buy from 1A very easy. VERY VERY happy with my purchase. Will buy more parts from 1A Auto

Product is made very durable. Same as factory. Only issue is the packing of the product for shipping. I received the struts with the box ripped open and the struts had some damaged spots. I checked with the mechanic to see if it was an issue. In the end all was well.

I ordered the struts for my Element because of the YouTube video I saw of the extremely talented woman giving instructions on how to throw the struts on. How can I not buy from a business who would do that? The actual struts are great and they saved me around $700 if I would have bought them from the Honda dealer. Thank you so much.

Before installation I looked up the "how to" video on YouTube. Sue from 1A Auto demonstrated a complete, thorough presentation which was easy to follow. Spent the afternoon doing the install and saved over $1600.00 compared to the dealer estimate (documented). As a senior on a fixed income any expenditure that can be saved is of great benefit! These are not Bilsteins, nor are they even KYBs. But they are as good or better than the competing economy strut assemblies out there and 1AAuto delivers them fast. They fit my Element in the key dimensions (knuckle and tie rod end), but I had to modify one slightly for the vehicle speed sensor cable to get the 10mm head bolt in because the welded nut on the backside of the bracket didnt align with the hole in the bracket. Had to enlarge the hole in the bracket. Not unforgivable and was only an issue on one of the struts, but it prevented a five star rating, even factoring in the cost.

Easy to find and place order on website, got delivered on time. Exact fit on my 04 E AWD w/ABS. Didn't have any problems reported by others regarding threads on brackets. I had given it out to a shop to install. The mechanic installed the passenger side and said the 2 bolts on the bottom for the driver side don't line up. I don't have a private garage or air tools so that's why I gave it out. To confirm what the mechanic said, I tried installing it myself and had no issues. This was a straight forward no brainer install so I gave it out, my mistake. It's been almost 2 months, the truck is handling fine, seems like quality parts.

Having replaced strut assemblies before, I was not informed as to associated hardware needed. I.E. Bushings located at top of Strut Assembly on GM sedan. Do these Strut Assemblies come with ALL the mounting hardware and/or gear required or should I b

Yes the struts assemblies came with all the upper hardware and bushings. The only thing you need to reuse are the two large bottom mounting bolts and the tie rod end bolt. I replaced the outer tie rod ends while I was doing the struts.

The electronic tool is a torque wrench. They come in electronic and mechanical varieties and can be purchased for under 100 dollars. A torque wrench is important for this job.

Mary, mechanics use power tools to be more productive. These struts can be installed with hand tools. As for factory torque specs, they are available online and a torque wrench (which measures how tight a bolt or nut has been tightened) can be borrowed or rented. Hope this helps!

i do not use a torque wench for most repairs. I tighten fasteners evenly and approximately equal to the torque required to remove the fasteners. If I remember correctly, there were three fasteners that hold the top part of the strut in place. The strut itself was already set up. That is the important fastener/dimension/torque. The remaining bolts, top and bottom, only require general torque guidelines.
