Beat up packaging mismatched part numbers

I ordered parts for two different but similar vehicles and none of the numbers on the boxes match the part numbers on my order. Hard to figure out which pets went where before taking the others off the vehicle. Packages were destroyed with damage to strut assemblies which may or may not have happened during shipping. Prices were great and because of that I would order from them again. Shipping was also cheap and quick.

I was having a little difficulty finding the parts I needed. A-1 had what I needed. Order was a breeze and delivery was prompt. I had a mechanic install the parts and my Element's ride is now noticeable better - nice & smooth.

Great set of OE Replacement Struts

Great set of OE Replacement Struts. Driven over 1000 miles without issues. It came with 15mm nuts, however. I would advise against using them since OEM is 14mm.

If your short on money or just want don't want to invest too much on an older car, these are a good option... But in all honesty, the quality from the rubber on the lower bolt for the rear strut assembly is not the best, specially if you're comparing them to the original manufacturer's which lasted for 14 years on a 2004 Honda Element... But at the end, these were able to hold and still are so far... Who knows, maybe they'll last for years and years, but I highly doubt it. They're looked very similar to the naked eye, but the Gage on the front and rear for these Chinese ones are a bit thicker compared to the originals, which may not seem like much but in the long run may affect their durability...

DIY friendly parts

These parts were a perfect fit for my 2005 Honda Element. I have been driving on the new struts for six weeks and the ride is very smooth. If you have trouble removing the tie rod ends from the strut mount, get a ball joint separator. Much easier than solvents and torches. Also if you damage the tie rod ends, they are very easy to replace and are inexpensive. If you are considering changing your struts, I recommend these for the good price and quality parts.

Awesome struts

These are very well constructed, good looking, rock solid struts. I was looking for struts that were "stiffer" than OEM and would lift the vehicle just slightly. These are perfect. Lifted my Element one inch allowing me to put 225/75/r16, Kelly Safari tires on with plenty of clearance both front and rear. Worth every penny.

I have a 2005 Honda Element Ex. I purchased it used, has the second owner, with 124k in miles. I noticed at about 140k my ride was a bit on the rougher side, despite having a fresh set of tires. I did ask other Element owners if that was normal. The feedback was, all the same, stating, "for the most part, it's a stiffer ride". Well, I assumed that to be factual and decided to purchase a seat cushion to help absorb the bumps. I suppose the cushion helped, but once I hit 180k, the ride was at its worst. The interesting part was that not the front or rear bottomed out nor did it ever hit hard, like metal to metal contact. What caught my attention was, when looking at the profile of the element from a distance, it looked like the rear was lower than the front. I asked a few people to confirm that they saw it, as well, and they did. It wasn't much, but it, so I decided to purchase this kit. Complete install took about 3 hours with help. Thankfully, 1A Auto has videos to help with R&R. There were a few differences between my 05 Element and the model year used in the videos but no major issues other than a bracket on the drivers side front strut. I believe the manufacturer had a welded bracket that was not in the OEM position causing a figment problem with large bolts. I was able to reverse the orientation of the bolts as a workaround.

I discovered both original front springs on my 2005 Honda Element were broke when I was doing an oil change, and I knew all 4 springs / shocks were original so I ordered this set and changed all 4 corners. These are okay, but I can tell you the ride quality is much stiffer than the OEM set. Even with the broken OEM springs, the Element went from a smooth riding SUV to feeling like i'm driving a 1990's 2-door wrangler. But on the other hand, the price was right and I would have spent probably 3X the amount on OEM.

Fit is good but ride quality is not

Parts were a perfect fit (once I got the notorious rear driver's side bolt out), but the ride quality is definitely subpar. The old shocks I removed looked to be the original OEMs from 2005, and they were still more comfortable than these new ones. I can feel every bump and pebble on the road now, and bugger bumps jerk the steering around which was not the case before. I'll update if there is any improvement once I have the alignment done, but I'm not expecting much. Will probably bite the bullet for actual Honda shocks next time around.

Looking forward to do the same with my Toyota Tundra
