Great product, price, and service

Excellent products and customer service. The steering shaft was about half the price as what other companies sold the part for, and I got the part really quickly. I actually got the shaft about three days early. The customer service was great, the gentleman was able to tell be the part was equivilant to the part number the mechanic gave me.

good replacement

I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT 3.9 Extended Cab When my shaft began to fail i went looking for an affordable replacement. Initially i had a doubt about the above part, being 30% of the price of all the others i could find, however it was an exact fit, and restored my trucks steering back to factory. I highly suggest coating all the exposed splines of your steering rack input pinion with anti-seize before installing a new shaft. it'll make the next guys job of replacing it in 10 years so much easier.

Fit perfectly

This fit in my truck perfectly and was super simple to do just one bolt on top one on bottom and slide it out and slide the new one in.. just know that the end of it slides out and it is not to short it is adjustable

Came as pictured. Packaging was very nice. Gave it a 4 out of 5 only because like many others have stated. you'll have to get an alignment done after installation as your steering wheel will be rotated to the left about 5-10 degrees. Otherwise A+ seller, would buy from again.

It Extends!

Great replacement for a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport 2wd, 3.9L V6. This is only good for the 2 wheel drive models, and comes in all one piece. A note for anyone replacing this part is that the lower part of the shaft does extend with a bit of force, the part with the rubber boot. Also your steering wheel will be off by about 5-10 degrees which is fine. Not a bad replacement for a 20 year old truck.

This item fit excellent ,works well , the steering wheel alignment is off very little maybe 2 degrees and can be corrected by a new alignment. Fast service and great price.

Much cheaper than the local parts store

Part was $300 at the local parts store and $90 here. 24 hour wait at the store and 48 online. Think about it. I will wait another 24 hours for $210.

Good for cost, easy install

Had some issues with the u-joints developing play, very easy warranty process however. Install was easy (13mm socket and long wrench, 10mm socket and short wrench IIRC). Steering wheel did turn left by 15ish degrees, fixable with an alignment but not necessary

Great part overall

Great part, quality is great. It works amazingly had no problems with mechanical issues after nor had any shipping or ordering problems. Seems to be a very legit & helpful site, got my truck back to normal!

Great product great price

This is a great product as good as original or doorman replacement at half to a fourth of price. This has the best warranty for price. I was leery of the $35 ones no warranty and looked cheaply made. This removed all the play in the steering and it drives like a new truck!@

Hard to extend

Shaft was too short so I noticed that the rubber on the old shaft was moveable. I had to hit it with a hammer to get it to extend. It went in but seems really stiff and it squeaks at the roller in the firewall. There seems to be pressure on the shaft through that bearing. It does steer better and does not make the clunking sounds when turning. Next is the P/S pump and a new rack & pinion.

Works, but could be better

It took me a few hours to remove the old shaft because the bottom retainer bolt busted. It will not come off without removal of that bolt, and the space is tight. I ended up having to use a hack saw to cut the old part up enough to pry out the remains of the old rusted stud. When it came time to install the new shaft, there was no new replacement bolt. I understand I shouldn't expect such things, but it sure would have been helpful. This shaft needed to be replaced because it's in a high corrosion area. The new shaft was a very tight fit on both ends, and the telescoping portion proved extremely tight. Very tough to install in such a tight area, and this is a pickup truck.

Not sure of manufacturer, the u-joints in this one are definitely beefier than the OEM part and the overall quality of the part is better as well. I've used this shaft as the replacement for 3 of my Dakotas and have had no problems with it. Definitely recommend using it as a previous customer and as a proffesional auto tech.
