This video is brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality parts and the best service on the internet. Visit us at www.1AAuto.com. In the interest of keeping the video short, we did skip the part about removing the door panel. If you'd like to see a detail on removing your door panel, please see our other videos.
We've removed the door panel and now, here is the mirror and you pull this pad away and you can see three 10mm bolts and you just loosen those bolts. The mirror is usually kind of adhered on there just by age unless you've had some damage to it, maybe broken free but one. See there. Then, the mirror is off.
Now, we've painted our new mirror and we're going to do the same thing that feeds the cord right through. Here going there and we're going to make sure the cord doesn't get caught in there at all. Then, we're going to thread and that's on. That's threaded on and now you're going to snug them. Not too much, maybe five or six foot pound which is just kind of tight with your hand. Notice I'm just going to hold it like this. You don't want to be too tight because you don't want to break the base of the mirror or anything. Stuff your pad back in. Then, we'll put the door panel back on and you'll be all set. Thank you for watching. We hope this helps you solve your automotive problem. Remember to check out www.1AAuto.com for all your parts needs whether it's a classic or your everyday car or truck. Thanks.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you outside or side rear view mirror replacement on this '99 Intrigue. It's the same as any '98 to '02 Intrigue. Tools you'll need for the job are flat blade and Phillips screwdrivers, a T30 Torx driver, a door panel clip tool or a putty knife would work, a 10mm wrench or socket with a ratchet.
Start here, take this panel, lift up carefully, pull it down, and then underneath, disconnect the two harnesses. Disconnect your mirror harness, usually I take a little screwdriver and push the little tab, push down and pry it up and pull it out. Now use your screwdriver again, and right in behind your door handle you'll see a little slot, put your screwdriver in, pry out, and pull this little panel out.
Now there are three screws. A Phillips screw's right there. This bezel comes off, and you have to disconnect your switch. There's a T30 screw here and another T30 screw underneath that door pull. Speed it up here as I use a T30 Torx screwdriver to remove those two Torx screws, and a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw for the door handle bezel. There's a little thumb tab, pull that connector off. You either want a putty knife, or if you have one a door panel clip tool, put the knife up and under, slide it until you feel a pin, and give a good pull. Slide it until you feel the next one, keep going up, and one usually up here. Pull it out, and then our speaker here gets disconnected, press the little tab. Disconnect the speaker and your door panel is off.
Here's our mirror lead right here. Just pull back on a little tab and pull the lead up and out. It's held in by three 10mm nuts. Remove them with a 10mm socket with a ratchet. I've got an extension although I don't need it. Fast-forward here a little bit as I remove those three 10mm nuts.
Here's my new one from 1A Auto. It's going to mount on there exactly the same. It has the same studs and everything. Same plug, so it's going to plug in correctly. It comes in black and, obviously, you can replace and put it on there. If you have a broken mirror, that will fix your problem. If you wanted to paint it to match your vehicle, what I suggest you do is go to an automotive parts store that has a paint department. They can match your color, put it into an air charged can, you would have to tape up your mirror and spray it to match the vehicle.
With this car, obviously again, my original is in fine shape so I'm just going to reinstall it. Put it through, into place, make sure it's seated correctly on the outside of the car. Tighten them and you want to tighten them firm, but you don't want to over tighten them. You don't want to break the base of the mirror or anything. Reconnect the lead.
Before we reinstall, just make sure our pins are all in place. To put it in, just reconnect the speaker if you have the Bose sound system, make sure all of these, actually this has to go up through here and all of those go through there. Hook it in, you can see down and you can see your two top pins. Just hook those right into place. Then on this speaker, you're just going to line up the pins that go into the door, make sure all of your clips are going in, just go around the door.
Reconnect the door lock button. Slide this bezel back into place. Phillips screw. Just speed it up here as I put that Phillips screw in, and then my two T30 Torx screws. Remember, the one that goes up behind the door pull. It does go in at a little bit of an angle, it doesn't go straight in. This one I'm starting here, you can see how it goes at a bit of an angle. This trim plate goes in, the little slots on the bottom. Let's see, reconnect our mirror and our two window lock connections. Put the top in first, snap the bottom down into place.
