Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the master power window switch on this 2003 Saturn Ion, same as any '03 to '07. If your master switch is going, a lot of times they get wet, and that shorts them out. Basically one of the things that can happen is the lock out button can get shorted out and it locks the windows out all the time. So, if your windows are all working with the master window switch, but they don't work with their individual switches, that's a pretty good sign the master switch is bad.
There are two screws right down in there. I'm just going to speed up as I use a Phillips screwdriver to take out those three screws. For the mirror switch here, pry it out lightly, and there's a tab right here that you pull back and then the switch unhooks, and this whole panel comes up. For these little tabs on these connectors, press the tab with your thumb, pull it down, and do the same thing with this blue one. Press the tab. Sometimes you might use a screwdriver, and kind of push on the tab where it's locked, and pry up.
Once you have this out, the master window switch is just held in by four tabs. Pry out, and pull on the switch at the same time. Release one side, and make sure you're still applying pressure out on the switch. Release the other side. One of my tabs re-locked here. Then the switch comes out. My original switch is working just fine. So, for re-installation, just push it back in, and reconnect your mirror, and slide that end first, down, and then put your two screws back in.
