Hey, I'm Brian, I'm here to give you guys a little tutorial on some window regulators. The specific design is the scissor design. We actually get a lot of calls on these products here and the common question is: The part I received seems different than the part in my vehicle.
The scissor design actually has a flip design and we're actually going to show you how to fix this here. The most common thing that you want to do, or the first step you want to do is lay the parts out side by side. Try not to match them up in the car because this can get confusing. Take it out, lay them side by side, and what you actually see here is a same exact part for the same model vehicle in the same door. As the appearance shows here, they seem to be mirrored.
If you look down at the bottom here, we have the power window motor. This is the piece that is actually powered to lift and lower your glass. The next section down here is . you actually have your gear drive. Here's your mounting plates on both. As you can see, it's identical. You have your tension spring here. If you notice on the upper section here, it's kind of reversed. You're going to think normally, I get the wrong side door. You're going to give us a call and you want to express that to one of our customer service reps. I'm going to show you how to fix this.
Basically, pick this up by the base and you want to scissor or flip. This is how you're going to fix the issue. It's going to actually match the component as shown there. You can now see that both of these components here are the same part and you're ready for installation.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and replace a rear window regulator on this 2006 Nissan Sentra. It's pretty much the same procedure for any 2000 to 2006 Sentra. We show you the driver's rear, the passenger's rear is the same process. Tools you'll need for the job include a flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, 10mm wrench or a socket, ratchet with extensions, putty knife, and T20 Torx driver.
Now, to remove this, there's a little Phillips clip in here, you can just turn it lightly with a Phillips screwdriver. If it doesn't come out, you don't want to press on it, it should come right out. If it doesn't come out, you might want to pry on it with a small flat blade screwdriver, but this does end up coming right out. Now here, you want to pull up on this. That whole thing comes out and then you pull up on this and you can disconnect your window switch by pressing the button right there.
You may find it easy to use a small screwdriver, press on the button and pull off. Use a screwdriver here. You want to gently pry out on this bezel on the bottom and top, and on the bottom and then on the back here as well. Right here, there are two bolts. They have Phillips heads in them but they may be easier just to use a 10mm wrench.
Once those are off, you can reach right down in here and you'll feel a hole in the door panel. Just give it a good quick, firm pull. That releases the clips. There's one more clip right up in here. Once those clips are released then lift up on the door panel and bring it right out. Next, you'll want to carefully remove the water and sound insulation. I use actually a putty knife to pretty much scrap through. Sometimes it comes right off. You'll probably get six or eight inches that come right off, and then six or eight inches that you really have to work on. You want to avoid ripping and tearing this insulator.
We're going to use our 10mm socket with a ratchet and extension, and we're going to remove this brace right here first. Right down here is your connection. You want to squeeze on the inside, outside, and then pull down and disconnect. Then, I'm going to unbolt the motor and regulator, slide the window down, and then unbolt the window from the regulator. I'll fast-forward as I just remove the four bolts that hold the motor bracket to the door. That comes down and there is a bolt right here that you can see quite easily. I'm going to remove that.
Now, without the extension, there another bolt right in here. I'm going to hold the window up and I'm going to use my socket and ratchet and remove this bolt right in here. Now, put it up. Just hold the window up out of the way, grab hold of my regulator, and it comes right out. Then I can slowly let the window down .A lot of the times what happens with these is this joint up here actually comes apart or breaks. What I'm going to do is remove the motor from the regulator. You can see I've got my switch installed. I'm going to plug my motor back in, make sure I get it right here, and then I'm going to carefully- I've got my key on already. I'm going to carefully go up.
Now you can see there's a Torx screw here and a Torx screw here. I'm going to remove them. I'm going to unplug here and turn off my key again. Now, you want a T20 Torx bit. It's a quarter inch ratchet bit, so remove these two screws. Now, you want to plug this back in and you'll turn your key back on and carefully run this down. You can see this last screw. Disconnect that. Take the screw out and now your motor comes off your old regulator.
Here's the new regulator from 1A Auto. It's just like the old one. We're going to bring it out here so we can see another screw hole there, put the motor on, start in one bolt, and this one here. Plug this in and carefully bring it down. Now unplug it for right now, put this third one back in. Now, you're going to want to lift your window up. You'll actually want to put, let's see, you're going to want to put this bolt in. Just start into place, keep the window up out of the way, slide our new regulator in here.
You see I put that bolt in that's resting right there right now. Take another bolt, put this up into place, and start that in. I'm going to fast-forward here. I start the rest of the bolts in, let the window slide down and meet the regulator, make sure it meets the track correctly, and then just put those four bolts in and tighten them up nice and firm. Turn the key back on and then carefully run this up a little bit. I can see my bracket there. Line it up, put that bolt in, run it up a little more here, get a good angle at this bolt here. I can't really film it but you just reach in and put this bolt in place.
You can see I unplugged the switch. I've actually turned the key off as well, and you just want to start that bolt right in there. Here, I'm just going to fast-forward as I tighten up that last bolt that holds the regulator to the window, and then I put the brace back in place, bolt that in place, and tighten it up as well.
Put the insulation and water shield back on, feed your window harness through it, and then make sure the two holes that are in the middle there line up. Then press the perimeter on. To replace your panel: bring it up, line it up, and you really got to push in the back here and slide it down into place. You just use your putty knife and basically just pry this part right up. Now, I just reach and make sure that your power window harness comes through. Then you can set all the clips around the edge.
Your two bolts, you can just reinstall them with a screwdriver. Plug your switch back in, front goes down in first. Then this goes right in. Make sure you press it down firmly. Get it all locked in. Then this goes right around the door handle. You've got to make sure it's locked on firmly. Then lastly, this, you just push it right back into place.
