Installation

  • This repair is easier than you may think. You'll find our installation videos helpful. In our experience removing and replacing the door panel is the most involved step in the repair. On most vehicles this only requires removing a few screws and push-in clips.

  1. step : Remove the door panel (1:00)
    • See our other videos for more detailed instructions.
  2. step : Remove inner door panel (1:35)
    • Remove series of nine or ten 7mm bolts
    • Remove the one 10 mm bolt
    • Disconnect the panel from the door lock rod.
    • Disconnect the door lock actuator.
    • Unclip the harness and door lock rods from the guide pins on the inside of the inner door panel.
    • Pull the inner panel off and out.
  3. step : Replace the door lock actuator or window regulator as needed (4:15)
    • From here you have access to both.
    • Simply use a 3/8 drill bit to remove the rivets to uninstall and replace them.
  4. step : Reinstall the inner door panel (5:00)
    • Use white grease to grease the window actuator track
    • Line up the inner door panel onto the window actuator track.
    • You may need to rotate and manipulate the inner door panel to get it onto the tracks properly.
    • Thread all the wiring harnesses into place.
    • Reconnect the lock rod.
    • Clip all the iring harnesses and locking mechanism rods into the retaining clips on the inside of the inner door panel.
  5. step : Test (8:20)
    • Double check your connections.
    • Plug in the control panel and test your window and locks.
  6. step : Finish reassembling (8:58)
    • Bolt in the inner door panel.
    • Reassemble the main door panel.
