step : Removing the Wheel (0:48)
- Remove the lug nut covers with a 7mm Allen Wrench
- Insert the lug nut key into the locking lug nut
- Loosen the lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack
- Secure the vehicle on jack stands
- Remove the lug nuts
- Pull off the wheel
- If the wheel will not come off, thread one lug nut and use a pry bar to loosen the wheel

step : Inspecting the Brakes (1:54)
- Turn the rotor by hand or turn the steering wheel to turn the rotor
- Check the thickness of the brake pads
- Check the brake pad wear indicator
- Check for gouges on both sides of the rotor

step : Removing the Brake Pads (2:04)
- Remove the two 13mm bolts from the brake caliper
- Pry the brake pads into the caliper with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pry the caliper off with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pull the caliper aside
- Pull off the brake pads by hand

step : Removing the Brake Rotor (2:39)
- Remove the two 8mm Allen bolts from the brake caliper bracket
- Pull off the brake caliper bracket
- Remove the Phillips head screw from the rotor
- If the screw will not remove, drill it out
- Pull the rotor off

step : Preparing the New Brakes (3:17)
- Put a large C-clamp on to the brake caliper
- Apply pressure to the brake piston
- Twist the piston in with slip joint pliers and adjust the C-clamp to maintain pressure
- Clean the rotor with brake parts cleaner or mineral spirits
- Clean the brake pad slides with a wire brush
- Check the caliper slides for smooth movement
- If the caliper slides do not move smoothly, clean them and apply grease
- Apply grease to the caliper slides
- Apply grease to the brake pad tabs

step : Installing the New Brake Rotor (4:54)
- Slide the rotor on
- Insert the Phillips screw into the brake rotor
- Put the bracket back into place
- Start the two 8mm Allen bolts by hand
- Tighten the bolts to 50 foot-pounds of torque

step : Installing the New Brake Pads (5:42)
- Install the new brake pads into the bracket
- Put the caliper on
- Thread the two 13mm bolts by hand
- Tighten the two 13mm bolts

step : Reattaching the Wheel (6:24)
- Slide the wheel into place
- Start the lug nuts by hand
- Tighten the lug nuts preliminarily
- Lower the vehicle to the ground
- Tighten the lug nuts to 100 foot-pounds in a crossing or star pattern
- Remove the lug nut key
- Put on the lug nut caps

step : Testing the Brakes (6:55)
- Pump your brakes repeatedly until they feel firm
- Test your brakes at 5 miles per hour and then 10 miles per hour
- Road test the vehicle
