My project only required me changing the Front Struts, but at this price it made sense to replace the shocks as well since it had been a few years since replaced. The front struts came with a new "limit stop" which is inserted from the top of the strut tower - this item has been revised from the OEM version and is shorter. On the OEM version I had to make a 3/8" spacer to take up the gap between the old limit stop and the strut tower. A+ on the improvement!

I ordered a lot of parts for this Jetta. Everything came pretty quickly. Well packaged Im not a mechanic but I order parts. They was loaded in the trunk of the car and shipped to the mechanic. Probably...they worked fine on my '98 Beetle, which is a Golf chassis. One issue though...the struts raised the front of the car up about 2 inches.

Hi Jessica... It depends on the shocks or struts ...If they leak or your car sways or nose dives when you apply the brakes. You don't have to replace all four but it was my daughters car and they were inexpensive enough so i did all four . If your not sure take it to a shop and have them inspect them they might charge you a small fee or you can inspect them yourself...look for leaking shock or strut or worn or missing rubber bushings or have someone push down with force a number of times front and rear and see if the car is springy if it is replace the rear or front.....hope i helped you out Dale
