Vehicle Fit

Specifications:

  • Brand New Vent Mode Door Actuator
  • Replaces dealer part numbers: 52473356
  • Controls direction of air to vents
  • Direct fit replacement
  • Correct for Main HVAC unit

Fit and Installation

  • This part is designed to replace the factory vent door actuator with no modification. Removing and replacing a vent door actuator is generally a repair that can be done by the customer. We have the same part but at a fraction of the cost from a mechanic or the dealer.

The Correct Fix

The vent door actuator is the electric motor that moves the door in your heating and air conditioning system to direct the air out of the different vents. These parts wear out over time because they are used so often. They are usually located down in the foot well of the vehicle or under the dash. This part will mount the same way and all the electrical connections will be the same. You will save money in the long run.

Left Hand Drive Note:

Works good
Item works as expected. Very hard to get the bolts out and back in. 1/4" u-joint on a screwdriver handle did the trick.

Vent mode actuator
IT works great and is the exact copy of the original. Fixed the problem with the air not coming out of the right vent. Very cheap.

Got Air
The part was the exact match to the original and works great. I know it would be very difficult to have a installation video based on the location of the part but if you ever get the opportunity to it would be very helpful to others. Thanks 1A Auto.

where is this vent door actuator on the 2002 chevy silverado 1500 located and is there a video on it ?
Terry H July 13, 2017
I dont own a Chevy Silverado but I used to own a 02 Chevy Suburban and the actuator just off center, under the dash, its a little hard to get to but you can get to it. YouTube is helpful also.
Carlos C July 13, 2017
Im not sure if there is a video? But the actuator is above the gas pedal
Steven O July 13, 2017
It is under the steering wheel on the right side. Its tucked under about a foot above the gas pedal
Bryant M July 13, 2017
The actuator is under the dashboard, not hard to get at if your handy and a little flexible. I found videos on U tube that showed how to replace it.

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. mine is in a tight "working space" that is accessible from the driver side floor board. Theres a plastic vent, if looking from the floorboard upwards, that needs to come off. If I remember right, its right above the "hump" in the floor board. Kinda behind the lower center console. Its not the easiest thing to get to, but it can be done. Note: when I put mine on, everything was backwards. The air was blowing out of the defrost when I selected normal. That was because the center wheel needed to be spun 180 degrees to line up. Saying that, just in case it happens to you, and you think its a bad part.
