Remember whenever you are replacing any front end or steering components you should have your vehicle professionally aligned as soon as possible. This will ensure proper tracking and even tire wear.

Mazda 5 Control Arm Set
These appear to be of good quality and installed as expected. Had to get creative to get the from bushing bolts out because the transaxel pan is in the way on the drivers side and the A/C compressor on the passenger side. Found out afterwards that the service manual recommends disconnecting one of the engine mounts and moving the engine forward slightly. My solution was to loosen the subframe bolts slightly (with a jack underneath so it couldn't fall if the bolts were backed out too far) and letting the subframe droop an 1/8". This was enough clearance on the drivers side. On the passenger side, I hade to jack up the engine slightly as well. The whole job is a wrestling match, but that's how most suspension work seems to go.

I can't speak to the long term durability of the bushings and ball joints, but everything lined up well and fit as it should. Either way, this was much cheaper than replacing the individual bushings. The worst part of the job was getting the ball joint pinch bolt freed up and driven out.

My only recommendation to 1A Auto is to wrap the arms in packing material. The air filled balloon-type packaging does nothing to hold these in place within the box and the box just barely survived the internal bashing it received.

Should I be concerned about changing any other parts along with the control arms?
Rick E on Sep 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Rick. It all depends on what else may be worn out. I installed these control arms on a car with loose ball joints. You should always inspect the rest of the front end while you are in there. Particularly the tierod ends and struts as those are the other common components that wear out. The control arms come complete so there isn't much else you would need if that's all that is wrong.
These lower control arms do they fit a Mazda CX-5 2014 ?
yeison r on Jul 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, I do not know. I only replaced them on my 2008 Mazda 5. I did have to use a jack on the motor to rotate it out of the way to get the Passenger control arm bolt out. I have rear AC option and a component for that was right in the way of the control arm bolt coming completely out.
Good luck.
