1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler Body Mounted Liftgate Weatherstrip Seal Fairchild Automotive D3028

I installed this weatherstrip seal on my Key Parts Liftgate. When I was installing it there were two holes on the seal, one near each corner that lined up with a hole on the liftgate, but there was no clip in the hole, like all the others. So that was a mystery. The shape and fit seemed good until I closed, or tried to close it, but it wouldn't close because its too thick. I had to get my neighbor to push on the outside corners of the liftgate while I was inside the Jeep, and I pried the latches over the plates on the hardtop to latch the liftgate closed. I did this several weeks ago, and hope it will compress over time so I can close it normally. In the mean time I will leave it closed, because it is too thick.
