Vehicle Fit

The ignition coil is a crucial part of your ignition system. It's function is to convert the 12 volt power of your vehicle's electrical system in to 35,000 or more volts. This produces a high intensity spark at the spark plug which then ignites the fuel in the cylinder. Coils in general will wear out over time and cause a misfire condition. In engines like this that use a coil, if the coil goes bad, the complete assembly needs to be replaced.

This Ignition Coil features the following specifications:

  • Brand New

Customer Q&A
Ask a question to 1A Auto customers who purchased the product
If I have a piston misfiring, would or could that be a coil problem? My 2003 Ford Windstar in a one year period would not start. After it sat for 30-45 minutes it started right up. Occasionally when I accelerate, the van is somewhat hesitant as if it wants to shut off but that has never occurred. I took the vehicle to a shop and they said it was the misfiring piston and the whole job would cost me about $2,100 to get repaired.
