Harmonic Balancer Puller Dorman 594-999 - 1AEHB00094

Most Harmonic balancers are pressed on to the end of the engine crankshaft.
This is the correct removal tool for pressed on harmonic balancers.
Severe engine damage can be the result of "alternative" methods of removal.
This Puller does have a long Press Bolt. If you are removing the Harmonic Balancer without removing the engine it may not clear in some applications. A different length hardened bolt of the same diameter and thread count can be substituted if necessary.

Universal Part Note:

This is a universal part and not a direct replacement for the existing part on your vehicle.  In some situations, modifications may be necessary for it to fit and function properly.

Make sure your Balancer has pulling holes
My 2001 Nissan Maxima does not, so this tool won't work because it doesn't have the arms with hooks on the end to pull with.

This tool did work fine when pulling the harmonic balancer off a Ford Explorer 4.6L V8.

What size or type of bolt should be used on my harmonic balancer? Im replacing mine for third time and while tightening bolts one snapped

BEST ANSWER: We are sorry to hear a mounting bolt has snapped. We could attempt to verify this information using your vehicle VIN number, however it may be easier to contact a local dealership with the VIN for exact sizing.
