  1. step : Removing the Wheel (0:44)
    • Pry off the center cap with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Loosen the lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground
    • Raise the vehicle with a floor jack
    • Secure the vehicle on jack stands
    • Remove the lug nuts
    • Pull off the wheel
  2. step : Removing the Brake Pads (1:10)
    • Remove the 10mm bolts from the brake caliper
    • Pull the caliper aside
    • Pull the rotor off
  3. step : Removing the Brake Shoes (1:50)
    • Remove the brake shoe springs with the vise grip pliers
    • Remove the brackets from the retaining pins
    • Remove the brake adjuster
    • Remove the brake shoe
  4. step : Installing the New Brake Shoes (2:57)
    • If you want to use your old adjustor spray the pin with rust penetrant
    • Test and make sure you can twist the adjust by hand
    • Push out the retaining pins
    • Put the upper retaining pin in place
    • Bring a wire through the second retaining pin hole
    • Strip the wire with wire strippers
    • Wrap the wire around the pin
    • Pull the pin up through the hole and disconnect the wire
    • Lift the front brake shoe into place
    • Thread the retaining pin into the brake shoe
    • Twist on the retaining bracket with vise grip pliers
    • Repeat the process with the rear brake shoe
    • Put the adjuster into place
    • Push the brake shoes together by hand
    • Put the adjuster clip into place
    • Hook the springs on with the vise grip pliers
    • Wipe the brake shoes with mineral spirits
  5. step : Reinstalling the Caliper (6:32)
    • Push the rotor into place
    • Turn the adjustor if you have too much or too little resistance
    • Clean off the brake pad slides on the caliper bracket with a wire brush
    • Put the caliper on
    • Tighten the 10mm bolts
  6. step : Reattaching the Wheel (8:33)
    • Slide the wheel into place
    • Start the lug nuts by hand
    • Tighten the lug nuts preliminarily
    • Lower the vehicle to the ground
    • Tighten the lug nuts to 100 foot-pounds in a crossing or star pattern
    • Reattach the center cap
  7. step : Testing the Brakes (9:08)
    • Pump your brakes repeatedly until they feel firm
    • Test your brakes at 5 miles per hour and then 10 miles per hour
    • Road test the vehicle
