This replacement Engine Knock (Detonation) Sensor Pair is just what you need to get your vehicle in good running order again!

A knock sensor is like a small electronic microphone that is usually attached to the engine block and listens for a couple of things that a engine might do. One thing it listens for is pre-ignition or knocking inside the engine usually caused by a few issues including dirty gas, wrong engine timing low octane fuel, wrong air / fuel mixture, and also by the wrong spark plugs. It also listens for engine run on which happens when the vehicle is turned off, but tries to keep running until it stalls. Once a noise is detected, the knock sensor sends a signal to the cars computer which in turn will retard the timing at 2 degree intervals until it corrects the issue. If the knock sensor fails, it can seriously damage the engine, as continuous pre-ignition could cause melting or fractures in the pistons just to name a few.

Great part,good price
Installation was fairly easy, the video helped some and delivery was on time. The worst part was getting old one out Nothing was mentioned in the video about the some of the odd and various types of clips used. Unless you have experience working with GM i wouldnt recommend trying this on your own. Would buy parts from 1A Auto again. Thanks Don

Perfect!!
I have used other knock sensors in my 2003 suburban and could never get the engine light to go off. Installed these along with a new map sensor from 1A Auto and not only is the light off, but my gas mileage went up and the trucks runs a lot smoother. Thanks.

Save some time
Unfortunately I got stuck with a problematic sensor that has been turning my check engine light on. I would say save yourself some time and get the GM OEM original sensor because now I need to pull apart my intake manifold again to replace this part and the intake manifold gasket which is not cheap. Im going with OEM replacement instead of this again. However support was not bad but still did not help much because I can only get part of a refund because it only one sensor doing this. The sad part is im nearly out 50 from the set and the 80 for the new gasket and another 60 to get new sensors. All this means more money after I have already practically rebuilt this engine with OEM parts so it was pretty annoying to deal with this issue after I trusted these parts. I have had a good run with 1A auto parts before but so far engine parts are not one of them I would trust. When its a new part and quality I expect them not to be faulty, I understand it happens but when it happens like this I cant take another risk of more money and doing the job again and again it gets expensive. When you have to remove the intake manifold again and spend more money to replace that gasket and more time after rebuilding the engine its madding to have to replace a brand new part that is apparently a direct OEM replacement.
