Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor resistor in this Dodge Ram. This one is a 2008, but this procedure is similar for 1994 to 2009 Dodge Rams. You'll need a new resistor from 1AAuto.com and a Phillips screwdriver.
Your blower motor resister is located under the dashboard on the passenger side, just below the glove box. We'll disconnect the electrical connector and remove these two number two Phillips head screws. Remove the resistor from the bottom of the HVAC box.
Here we have our old part that we removed from the vehicle and our new part from 1A Auto. As you can see, they're identical. We have this ceramic heat sync on the part of the resistor here. Same four pin connection at the bottom, as well as the same two bolt holes. You'll see that ours has become overheated. You can see that this ceramic is cracking. We actually have a good chunk of it that's come off here. This is a good sign that our resistor is getting too hot, possibly because of all this corrosion build up on the copper terminals at the bottom. If these go bad, it can cause operation of certain fan speeds or the fan to fail completely, so be sure to check out this resistor before you go and replace a fan.
Install the new blower motor resistor into the bottom of the HVAC box. Start your two Phillips head screws. Tighten them down with your number two Phillips head screwdriver. Reconnect your electrical connector.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.

All right, friends. To get started on our blower motor resistor, you wanna be underneath the passenger-side dash. Grab onto your wire, and right along here, you're gonna find a tab. Go ahead and squeeze that. Pull this down. Give it a nice look. Make sure you don't see any funny colors. This looks great, so we'll set it aside. You're gonna find two mounting bolts on this. There's one right there and one on the far side towards the front. Remove them both. Grab the resistor. Pull it right out of here. Here it is, friends.
All right, friends. Now, it's gonna be time to install our brand new resistor. Something that I want you to pay attention to is this area right here where it's kind of beveled. That's gonna be facing towards the front of the vehicle. And take it, and slide it right on up and in here. Perfect. Now, we'll just start in both of our bolts, and then we'll snug them up. Go ahead and connect in your connector. There it is. All right. Now, you just need to test it.

Brought to you by 1AAuto.com. Your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. In this video, we're going to show you the location and how to replace your blower motor resistor. If your truck, the fan works, but maybe it doesn't work on certain fan settings like low or second, that's usually that your resistor's gone bad.
A pretty easy replacement. Just need a Phillips screwdriver. Your blower resistor, you can see it right here, along with two Phillips screws. It's pretty easy to access, although I'm going to film from right down here. Now first, there's a tab on the inside of the harness. Push the tab in and work that down. Then there are two screws. Original, new one from 1A Auto. You can see pretty much all the same. The connection is exactly the same. It's going to go in, both in, and function just like the original. Now install our new one up in there. Reconnect the lead. Turn the key on. Blow, two, three, four.

These items did the job. Old blower motor felt kind of bound up and resistor was cracked. Probably original.

bought a blower motor kit off these guys and I was honest shocked with the level of pride they take just in packaging. Then took it out of the packaging yo reveal how amazing the parts inside looked, I got a lot more to fix on my truck personally and will be going with A1 to get good quality parts for my truck.
Great replacement match

Video was really helpful
Parts definitely were ticket to repair, best price I found, too.
Would be helpful to be a smaller, amateur, mechanic, space was really tight for this repair.
Pigtail on replacement fan positioned couple inches further up the shaft, so pigtail ended up with no slack.
All in all, Great !
Good fit

Product itself is good. Direct fit. Just the cord is to short to get it back into factory location.
Good enough parts for the price

Working well. Housing doesnt protect the connecting wire as well as the OEM part. But given the location no problems expected. The resistor had a crack all around the perimeter. Time will tell if performance is affected. So far working well.
Very happy
