Good Price but Lacks Functionality

Priced well but does not function like OEM camera. Put on my 2013 Ford F-150 ... original functionality included colored gridlines, 3 levels of zoom and option to turn camera off - none of those three work. Camera will always come when backing and that's it.

I was pretty nervous about this considering it was 1/3 of the cost of the OEM, but it installed simply and works perfectly. Just dont forget that if youre replacing the original unit, you need to buy the replacement emblem and mounting bracket, as the original will break once you remove it.

I was very close to paying twice the price for OEM, I'm so thankful I didn't waste the money. This camera was easy to install and worked perfectly. My vehicle (2014 Raptor) did not need to have it calibrated like some people mention.

Bought replacement back up camera for the raptor. Arrived quickly. Due to highly technical issue, ECU couldnt recognize. After a quick, very accommodating phone call, they refunded the cost immediately. Ill continue to do business with 1A.

Replacement camera

I was hesitant concerning replacing the backup camera on my Ford F-150 truck. I watched some You Tube videos and decided to give it a try. The camera I purchased was spot on. The change out took 10 minutes. I feel the camera has better resolution than the original. I highly recommend this product. I saved $600 dollars when compared to the price our local Ford dealer quoted me.

This camera worked like a charm. The extra rubber on the outside of the camera made for a more complete fit into the "logo" mounting and in my opinion, worked better than the original for weather resistance. Overall, this camera is well worth the money and I did not sacrifice any functionality. 1. Better than original 2. Fits exactly 3. No functionality lost If this camera ever dies I will be reordering.

Purchased rear camera for 2013 F150 king ranch V6 ecoboost. Worked great and very easy to replace (5-10 minutes). Previous camera was intermittent and sometimes received the message "camera unavailable and to contact dealer". My guess is that over time dropping the tailgate damages the camera. I saw no difference in the Ford OEM and this one regarding resolution or functionality. Original camera lasted 7 years so not bad.

The first one that was sent out had horrible resolution. Almost like not having my glasses -3.1 which wasnt the case. The replacement was much better and decided to not return the product. Hopefully the last unit will stay operational. Because the second unit works well so far I will give it 4 stars otherwise would have been 5.

2014 F150 backup camera

My old camera was going in and out and would work only intermittently before finally giving up and dying altogether. I popped the top off of the ford emblem, removed two bolts, then got to the torx bit screw on the camera bracket. Removed the camera and reinstalled everything in reverse order and it works great. I was very careful pulling the ford emblem off, but one of the two clips broke anyway. Rather than buy a whole new emblem I just applied a bit of 3M VHB tape and stuck the emblem back on. It has been holding on great for a few weeks so I think it's going to work! Camera was plug and play, no reprogramming necessary, and the zoom button to zero in on the trailer ball works too. So far very satisfied!

Better image than original, guidelines & zoom don't work

This camera fits like stock and has better image quality than the original.The guidelines and zoom don't work on my truck (2013 FX4, display monitor in the rear view mirror, menu in the instrument panel.) I did try to turn on the guidelines in the menu and it won't stay set to On. The zoom menu is only available when in reverse and no levels of zoom work. The ford dealer needed to know my VIN in order to get the right camera for my truck. This suggests there is more then one camera available for some years, probably depending on camera display type (in mirror or in the console screen.) If you have the upgraded infotainment system with the larger, touch screen display in the console, the guidelines and zoom will possibly work. If you have the camera display in the mirror and a standard instrument panel (no menu system) then the guidelines should work, but if you have the menu in the instrument panel then I believe the guidelines and zoom are functions of the camera and they won't work w

Great picture for the price!

Replaced the tailgate mounted backup camera on a 2013 F150 XLT with the display in the rear view mirror. The dealership quoted me $550 for the part alone. Install was plug and play and the picture is clearer than the old one. As others mentioned the guidelines do not show up but a feature I can do without for an extra $400+.

Camera was perfect fit, easy to install and works well. Zoom feature don't work which was a bit disappointing and visual effect don't work well after dark. All in all, for the price difference between it and ford OEM parts I'd recommend it.

I have ordered the camera and the truck wouldnt recognize it. I asked A1 what to do and they shipped me another one no questions asked. The second works well. The guidance lines are there with no programming required. And the picture even seems a little clearer than the OEM camera. Very happy I didnt pay the dealer hundreds of dollars!

If you need a new back up camera for your f150 this one i would highly recommend. i have a 2013 f150 fx2. it fit perfectly and works awesome! my camera went bad. it was either blank, fuzzy or i got the triangle saying contact the dealership. this camera has the back up lines (red, yellow, green) and beeps when i get near objects like it should. i think the picture is even better than my original picture. this camera is a better deal that what i found on amazon and of course it beat the dealership price. took me 15 min to install. 10 outta 10.

The camera I received fit OEM location and did work but the factory reverse guidelines and the zoom feature DOES NOT work as advertised by the website. The screen is also very dim and not adjustable by the vehicle settings.

2013 F150 Platinum. Backup screen was kind of fuzzy or would go black and white on me. Did some googling and most people said the camera is likely the suspect. Found it here with 1a for WAY cheaper than the stealership. Install was pretty simple (10 minutes, watch a YouTube video on it) and I did not break the emblem. Quality seems to be better than OEM and a bit brighter. My lines and the trailer magnifier thingy still work. 100% perfect!!!

This works great. My previous camera feed kept cutting in and out. I replaced it with this one and the guides, blocks all work as usual. The only thing I noticed is the camera output is slightly more convex than before.. so it's a little more fishbowl'ish. Not a deal breaker.

Nice replacement for a good price. Everything worked like the original factory camera. Came on immediately when shift to reverse. Slight convex but we dont drive in reverse enough to even notice! If your trying to keep the price down, try some silicone glue on broken nameplate. Worked for me!

Our local dealership charged me $199 to check out my backup camera on my 2012 Ford F-150 FX4 and said the camera was bad. Then he told me it would be $800 more to replace it. I was not going to fix it until I did some checking on after market cameras. It was 1/3 the price of the the oem one so I'm satisfied. The zoom doesn't work and it doesn't have the guide lines but that's not problem for me. It does have a fish eye look but has a wide field of view compared to the factory camera. If you want exactly what you had, spend 300+ for the Ford one.

Worked perfectly on install. Plug and play. Old camera would come on for a second, may have lines and may not, and then would go to black and say contact dealer. This one plugged in and worked perfectly. Shows the straight lines. 2013 F150 FX4. Only thing I didnt realize until I watched more videos, but on older vehicles you have to break the emblem off and replace it with an aftermarket one. This was an unexpected expense and delay, but no fault of the camera. Bought replacement emblem off Amazon for $80.

For the whatever reason, there were squiggly lines all over the screen a day or two after installing this camera. I contemplated removing it and sending it back, but thought that there may be something wrong with my wiring. After sleeping on it a couple days the lines went completely away. I believe my wiring may have been the problem because it is as good if not better than the camera that was replaced. Great product that is much less than what the Ford Dealership was going to charge me.

I bought this specific camera because reviews indicated that it installed simply (I found this to be true) and that the zoom feature (not true) and the back-up lines (not true) came up without additional programming from Ford. I give it 2 stars because the picture is more clear than the original camera. However, at night the backup camera picture is very fuzzy and not clear at all. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the results.
