This door handle is a direct bolt on and is built to strict quality control standards. It is a great replacement and has substantial cost savings over a dealer unit.

  1. step : Remove the door panels (1:01)
    • Pry up the screw covers in the door pull and behind the door handle.
    • Remove the two exposed Phillips screws
    • Pull the power window switch panel up and disconnect the wiring harness.
    • Do the same with the interior door handle, unclipping the door latch rod.
    • Firmly pull the door the door panel out to unpin it from the door.
    • Disconnect the courtesy light.
    • Transfer the pins from the door to the panel.
    • Carefully peel back the water shield.
  2. step : Remove the outside door handle (3:10)
    • Remove the 5 screws securing the door lock actuator.
    • Unbolt the lock mechanism in the side of the door with your 10 mm socket, ratchet, and socket extension.
    • Work the door lock actuator and door lock mechanism to the side.
    • Unbolt the two 10 mm bolts securing bracket mounting the outside door handle.
  3. step : Install the new door handle (5:06)
    • Thread the bolts into the door handle bracket.
    • Slide the door handle onto the bracket and bolts and secure with your socket and ratchet.
    • Mount the door lock mechanism in the side of the door with your 10 mm socket and ratchet.
    • Replace the door lock actuator back together and secure the five screws mounting it and the door lock rod protector.
    • Carefully replace the water shield.
  4. step : Put the door panel back on (8:01)
    • Thread your wiring harness back through the door pull
    • Connect the courtesy light.
    • Clip the door panel onto the door, impacting the panel with the palm of your hand to drive the pins into the door.
    • Connect the power window switch panel and clip it into the door pull.
    • Connect the door latch rod to the interior door handle and clip it into the door panel.
    • Screw in the two Phillips screws and cover with the plastic trim pieces.

Feels solid!
I was apprehensive that this part would feel flimsy based on how cost effective it was, but was pleasantly surprised at how solid it felt when installed. Compared to the, 15 year old original it replaced, it felt great! It was sturdy and solid when opening the door.

It is paintable. I have replaced two on my car and since my car is black it looked fine as is but I recently had my car repainted and the door handles painted as well as the rest of the car.
