Unfortunately, this lock cylinder, (D 1499A), does not fit the 1966 Pontiac Catalina original 675 ignition switch. It sits too shallow and does not make contact with the bottom groove of the switch. Upon further research, another gentleman had a similar problem with his D 1499A lock cylinder working with his big body Pontiac and wrote a warning on Summit Racing. HOWEVER, 1A Auto offered a full refund, allowed me to keep the cylinder, and apologized for the inconvenience!
