This radiator cooling fan relay kit is a new, aftermarket replacement part. It is a direct replacement for a damaged or malfunctioning relay. It mounts on the radiator support and helps control the
operation of the fan motors.
After years of hot and cold cycles, these relays tend to start malfunctioning causing problems such as:
- Check engine light illuminating
- A/C system not cooling properly
- Engine overheating
- Engine wiring harness burning out
Many fan failures are misdiagnosed by mechanics thinking that the fan motors have burned out when in actuality the problem lies with the fan relay. Also many times the connection between the relay
and the plug burn out and are not noticed.
This kit contains everything needed to replace a faulty or burned out relay.

Location of relay: Relay can be located in many different areas depending on the vehicle application: Some typical locations are:
- Below the RH (passenger side) headlight behind the bumper fascia. Bumper maybe needed to be removed
- On radiator support
- On RH frame rail

Since the relay plugs directly into the engine harness, the old plug, if defective, will need to be cut and spliced with the new plug and crimp connectors that are supplied.
Note: Since this relay fits many types of vehicles, there are screws and pop rivets supplied so the relay can be attached. Which ever attaching hardware is not used, may be
discarded.
