step 1 :Removing the Wiper Motor
- Pull the wiper motor wiring harness out of its bracket
- Disconnect the wiper motor wiring harness
- Remove the four 10mm bolts from the wiper motor
- Remove the bolt from the ground wire
- Lift the wiper arms to the vertical position
- Pull the motor out
- Pry the wiper motor arm off the wiper linkage

step 2 :Preparing the Wiper Motor
- Mark, on the wiper motor bracket, the position of the wiper motor arm
- Remove the 12mm nut from the wiper motor arm
- Remove the three 10mm bolts from the wiper motor bracket
- Separate the motor from the bracket
- Remove the Phillips screw that holds the ground wire to the motor
- Pull off the ground wire
- Put the wire onto the new motor
- Insert the Phillips screw for the wire
- Put the motor onto the bracket
- Insert the three 10mm bolts into the bracket
- Put the motor into place
- Connect the ground wire
- Connect the wiper motor wiring harness
- Run the wiper to reset the motor
- Disconnect the ground wire
- Disconnect the wiring harness
- Pull the motor off
- Line up the wiper arm with the mark
- Fasten the 12mm nut onto the wiper arm

step 3 :Installing the Wiper Motor
- Connect the wiper motor arm to the wiper linkage
- Put the wiper motor into place
- Lower the wiper arms
- Insert the four 10mm bolts into the motor
- Connect the ground wire
- Connect the wiper motor wiring harness
- Push the wiring harness into the bracket
- Test the wipers

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the wiper motor on this 2002 Suzuki XL7. The items you'll need for this is a pair of pliers, a 10mm and 12mm socket and ratchet with an extension, flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
Your wiper motor is located right here. You just want to pull that harness from that bracket, pull back the sleeve on the harness and just push the tab on the harness and pull it free. Now you want to remove these four 10mm bolts. We'll just fast forward as Mike removes these. Now pull the motor out and lift your wiper arms up so they're completely vertical. Pull the motor out and then use a flat blade screw driver to pry that arm free. Now your motor's free.
Now you want to mark the angle of this arm. Just put a mark in the bracket. That way when you put the new motor on you can match the arm up. Just remove that 12mm nut and pull the arm free. Then remove these three 10mm bolts. Your motor is free. Now, using a Phillips screwdriver, just remove this ground wire. Now, attach the ground wire to your new wiper motor. Take your new motor and push it into place on the bracket and replace those three bolts. Then just tighten those up.
Before doing anything else, you want to just put your motor back into place. Then, just replace that ground bolt up at the top. Then tighten that up and reconnect your harness. Now turn your wiper blades on, then off. This will reset your motor so we know for a fact it's in the off position. Then remove that ground bolt and disconnect the harness and pull the motor free.
Now, you want to line up the arm with that line you made earlier and replace that washer and that 12mm nut and tighten it up. Now put your wiper motor back down into place. Line up the arm, the ball and the arm, with the linkage and then reach in there with both hands and squeeze the linkage until it connects to the wiper motor. Then put your wiper arms down. We'll just fast forward as Mike replaces those four bolts and tightens them up. Now push that harness back into the bracket and reconnect the harness to the motor. Now test out your wipers and make sure they're lined up properly and that they work. Then you're all set.
