How to install, repair, fix, change or replace a broken, damaged, burned out, side marker bulbs on 96 GMC Sierra

step 1 :Removing the Side Marker Housing
- Remove the four Phillips head screws from the side marker housing

step 2 :Servicing the Bulbs
- Turn the base of the bulbs counterclockwise
- Remove the old bulbs
- Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the old bulbs
- Connect the new bulb to the wiring harness
- Insert the new bulbs
- Turn the base of the new bulbs clockwise

step 3 :Reinstalling the Side Marker Housing
- Tighten the four Phillips head screws to the side marker housing

In this video, we're going to be working with our 1996 GMC Sierra K1500. We're going to show you how to remove and replace the lower corner marker fixture to replace the bulb in there.

Here are the items you'll need for this repair: Phillips head screwdriver, and gloves.
To remove the turn signal and marker light housing from the grille, we'll have to remove these four screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. Once the screws are out, we can remove the housing from the vehicle.
Once the turn signal housing is out of the way, we can reach in behind the side marker here on the bottom. Quarter turn counterclockwise to remove the bulb socket. The bulb simply pops out, and pops back in.
Reinstall it into the housing, and a quarter turn clockwise locks it back into place. Reinstall the turn signal housing into the grille. Reinstall your four Philips head screws.
