This is only if the steel base for the mirror is still adhered to your windshield. There will be a different procedure if that has fallen off.

There are no tools required for this repair.

Without the proper tool to remove the rear view mirror, you can simply grab it and rotate it to the side to pop the clip off of its retainer on the glass.

You'll notice that the bracket that goes back on to the glass is tapered. The wider part is going to go on first from the top. Make sure it goes on evenly so that clip grasps both sides.

Push it down as far as it will go, and you're all set.
