In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the tailgate piston on this 2002 Suzuki XL7. The only tool that you're going to need for this is a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by opening your tailgate. Right here is your piston. It's held in with two 10mm nuts. We'll just fast forward as Don removes both of those. Once those are removed, the piston pulls free.
Now push your new piston into place and replace that 10mm nut and then tighten it up. Push the tailgate in a little bit and reconnect the other end of the piston and replace and tighten up that 10mm nut. You're all set.
