How to Replace Rear Door Latch 2000-07 Volvo V70

How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken or snapped door latch on 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 Volvo V70

  1. step 1 :Removing the Rear Door Panel
    • Remove the six door panel clips with a small flat blade screwdriver
    • Use a small flat blade screwdriver and a trim tool to remove the plastic cover from the door pull
    • Remove the mounting screw with a T25 Torx screwdriver
    • Grab the door panel and lift it up
    • Disconnect the interior door handle cable
    • Disconnect the window switch wiring harness
  2. step 2 :Removing the Door Latch
    • Pry off the adhesion from the water shield with a razor blade
    • Pull the cable out of the clip
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the door latch
    • Remove the three T30 bolts from the door latch
    • Disconnect the outside door handle rod from the blue plastic clip
    • Remove the T25 Torx bolt underneath the latch
    • Disconnect the lock handle rod from the white plastic clip
  3. step 3 :Installing the Door Latch
    • Insert the door latch into place without trapping the outside door handle rod
    • Tighten the three T30 Torx bolts to the door latch
    • Connect the door lock road to the white clip
    • Connect the electrical connector to the door latch
    • Tighten the T25 Torx screw to the latch
    • Connect the door handle rod to the blue clip
    • Clip the cable to the guide
    • Press on the water shield
  4. step 4 :Installing the Rear Door Panel
    • Connect the interior door handle cable
    • Connect the window switch connector
    • Push the door panel and pushing it back in place
    • Line up the door panel with the door
    • Push in the six door panel clips
    • Tighten the T25 screw to the door panel
    • Press the T25 trim cover into the door pull
