In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the hood support struts on this '97 Dodge Intrepid, same as any '93 to '97. Tools you'll need are a small flat-blade screwdriver and something to prop the hood open or a helper.
Replacing these hood struts is pretty easy. You want to make sure you either have a helper, or a Swiffer, or a broomstick or whatever to hold up your hood. What you're going to do is . on this strut, there's just a little clip . you're going to pry that out with a small screwdriver. Do the same thing with the other end here, pry the clip out. It comes right off.
With a new strut, to put it on there, you have to twist it a little bit. You might have to lift up on the hood. Make sure it's on there good. Once you've replaced both sides then you can remove your helper or broomstick and the hood should stay up.
