step 1 :Removing the Hood Support
- Support the hood with a piece of wood or have an assistant support the hood
- Pry off the clip at the top of the hood support with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pull off the top of the hood support
- Pry off the clip at the bottom of the hood support with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pull off the bottom of the hood support

step 2 :Installing the Hood Support
- Push the top of the hood strut into place
- Push the bottom of the hood strut into place

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a hood support on this 2002 Volvo V70 and the only tool you'll need are a flat blade screw driver and something or someone to hold up the hood. The hood support is held in by clips at each end. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry out the clips. Obviously, you want something or someone holding up the hood while you do this. Pry the clip out, pull the lift support off and do the same thing for the lower part and just snap the new strut on.
