Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove the front door panel on this 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, the same as most minivans of this era with the ones that have power windows. The only tools you'll need are a 12 mm wrench to unhook the battery and then you'll need a Phillips screwdriver and either a door panel clip tool or a putty knife.
On the driver's side of your engine compartment, use a 12 mm wrench and disconnect your negative batter cable here. Okay to start, carefully put a screwdriver right up underneath and pry up, bring it right up. This panel comes off and then you use your screwdriver, pry out this little red tab here a little bit. Once you get that out, then disconnect here and that comes off.
Now there are 2 Phillips screws, one right down in the door pull and one right in behind your door handle. Okay now with those screws out, use either a door panel clip tool or a putty knife, pull out on your door panel a little bit, fish this in behind, pull out and pry at the same time and the clips pretty much release. Finally, pull out on the edges and then lift your door panel off. As you bring your door panel off, your lock rod, there's just a little clip, pull the clip off and lock rod down and then your door lock switch, just pull back on a couple of the tabs and pull it off. The door panel comes off.
To reinstall your door panel, bring your rod over, lock it in and slide the clip over, your door lock lead, plug that in. Now make sure you get your lock button up and through. Then push it against the window. Slide it down. Looks like the pins are in, lock them in right around. I'll speed through putting the 2 screws back in, one behind the door handle and then one on the armrest and then reconnect your battery and you're all set.
