How to Remove Door Panel 1996-2000 Dodge Caravan

step 1 :Removing the Door Panel
- Remove the manual window crank with the window crank with the window crank tool
- Remove the Phillips head screw from the door pull
- Remove the Phillips head screw from behind the door panel
- Pry the cover off the screw above the door handle
- Remove the Phillips head screw above the door handle
- Remove the s Phillips head crew at the top of the door panel
- Pry off the door panel with a putty knife or door panel removal tool
- Remove the lock rod from the door panel

step 2 :Reinstalling the Door Panel
- If the door panel clips did not come off, remove them from the door with the door panel tool
- Insert the clips into the door panel
- Insert the lock rod into the door panel
- Connect the door lock wiring harness
- Push the door panel into place
- Push all the clips in
- Insert the Phillips head screw behind the door handle
- Insert the Phillips head screw into the door pull
- Insert the Phillips head screw above the door handle
- Insert the screw cover
- Insert the Phillips head screw at the top of the door panel
- Reinsert the window crank pin into the window crank
- Put the washer on the window crank
- Pop the window crank into place

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the inner door panel on this 1998 Dodge Caravan, same as any Caravan or Plymouth Voyager from '96 to '00. This vehicle does have manual windows so this procedure is obviously for that.
The tools you'll need for this project are window crank removal tool, which you can find on our site, Phillips screwdriver, small flat blade screwdriver, and a door panel clip tool, which you can also find at 1AAuto.com.
The first thing you're going to do is remove your manual window crank. The best tool for it the actual tool that you use. You can do it a couple of different ways but this tool you'll use only costs a few dollars. We do sell them on 1AAuto.com and it's easy enough. You slide it in between here, just be careful because the clip can fly out sometimes. It just went right into my floor so I can see it. That just goes in, and pushes the clip off. Just make sure to keep the washer here with it.
Now you're going to remove a few screws. There's one right there next to your door pull. There's one right in behind your door handle. Take a small screwdriver, pry this little trapdoor open and you'll find another screw and then there's also one right up in here. Using a short screwdriver for this one up here is easiest. I'm just going to speed it up. I think you actually need to take out is the screw next to the pull and the one that you can see that's in behind your door handle. I don't think you need to take this top one off or the one behind the little trapdoor. I did it anyways.
You need to take your door panel clip tool, also a putty knife works. I actually use the putty knife first, get it in there, you slide it down, find the clip and use your door panel clip tool, get right around the clip. Once you start it going, then just pull. Lift it up and off. The lock rod is in behind, just flip that off. Pull it down. Here you can see the clips, I'm not sure why they didn't want to come out. Just basically go right around them with your clip tool and pop them out. Once you pop them out, put them right back into your door panel. Pull your lock rod over and put it up into this clip. Flip the clip over. Now you've got to find your lock here, just force it through here. Put the panel up in there. Peek back in here, get your pins to line up. I'll speed up here as I just put those four screws back in and that little trapdoor back on. Then I'll get into replacing the window crank. Take our little clip and usually put it back in, use a screwdriver and carefully push it back on. This little indent in the washer goes on top of there like that and then you can just put this on in any position. Make sure it latches on.
