Watch this video to learn where to place a jack or jack stands when you need to raise and support your vehicle. Using the wrong spot could cause damage.
Jack Stands
Floor Jack
If you've got one of these Suburbans and you want to raise it up, now obviously, you can see I've got it on a lift here and I understand not a lot of people have lifts, but if you want to raise it up with a floor jack and jack stands it kind of depends on what you are looking to do. If you're looking to raise both of the back wheels off the ground you can put your jack . go right in from the center back of the vehicle, okay. And then put your jack right underneath your rear end here. You want to make sure that you don't make contact with the cover but you want to put it underneath the housing.
If you just wanted to raise up one wheel you could put your jack right underneath the spring shackle here. If you're looking to raise your vehicle up and have the rear wheel hang, you would want to put the jack right under the frame here. This is the best place for jack stands, either here, or you could actually put jack stands right under the rear end as well.
In the front, if you want to raise up both front wheels, you come right under the center, and you want to put a jack right underneath this big cross number here, and then you would put jack stands as far up on the flat part of the frame as you can. You can also, if you're just looking to raise up one wheel, you can put a jack underneath the control arm here.
