How to Flip a Seat Belt Buckle in Your Car

In this video, we're going to be working with our 2001 Ford Ranger extended cab. We're going to show you how to flip a backwards belt buckle around on the belt. This job requires no tools. It's very easy to do and a great way to get rid of that minor annoyance of having this flip the wrong way, both aesthetically and it can be a little uncomfortable when your belt's all twisted up going over your shoulder or your lap from having to rotate it to get it into the buckle.

We're doing this on our 2001 Ford Ranger, but these steps are the same for any other seat belt out there. The only real difference is going to be how difficult it is to actually slide the buckle across the belt because of different thicknesses and materials they use when making these.

Having your seat belt buckle reversed on the belt can be really annoying and uncomfortable when it becomes twisted when you go to put it into its buckle. Fortunately, it's very easy to flip these over, and it might not be in the way you think.

There's no need to disassemble any parts of the seat belt assembly here. All you have to do is get some slack, fold your seat belt over like this. Be sure to keep it folded over as you move the buckle along. As it goes, it'll flip out on the other side, and now your buckle's facing the right way again.
