Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you air filter, engine air filter, removing it and replacing it on this '99 Intrigue, same as any '98 to '02. The filter in this car ends up being pretty nice, so we just put it back in. The only tool you'll need is a 13mm socket and ratchet, or a wrench. You do need to remove a brace out of the way.
Your air cleaner is right under here. You're going to want to remove two 13mm bolts here. I'll speed it up here as I remove those two bolts and then, after that, I will loosen the bolt that's up near the shock tower. Then just move that bracket out of the way. On your air box there are two clips. Flip them up and then down. Now lift it up and slide your air box cover over and up. Pull your air filter out.
This actually is looking pretty good, so we won't replace it. I'm just going to show you how to do it. Put it back in. Over here, you want to make sure these three teeth, or tongues, go into the groove here. Push down. Slide it in like that. You want to make sure it's down. Pull your clips back up and lock them down. Shift it into high gear again here as we move that brace back over, start the two bolts, tighten them down, and then tighten the one up at the shock well down. You should be all set.
