Dont Get Overcharged For These Quick Fixes 2007-14 GMC Sierra 3500 HD

Created on: 2021-06-12

Andy points out some easy repairs and maintenance that you can do yourself to save money!

In this video, we're going over some quick and easy repairs that you can do in your driveway on this 2007 to 2013 GMC Sierra 3500 HD.

The battery, it's actually very easy to replace and it's in this location on the passenger side. Don't be intimidated by this bracket, this comes out extremely easy. Just use a 13-millimeter socket, take these bolts out, take these bolts out. Make sure you grab this before you drop it, you don't want to arc it out on the positive terminal. When you're disconnecting the terminals, make sure you disconnect the negative terminal first. Use a 10-millimeter socket. Take that off and then take off the positive terminal. Then with a 13-millimeter socket, you might want to use an extension, and down here, there is a bracket that holds the battery down from moving around. Take that bracket out and then you'll be able to lift the battery. You might have to tip it a little bit and then slide it out.

Slide the new battery in, put that mount back in the same way you took it out and then start with the positive terminal first. Put that one on, tighten it down, and then go to the negative terminal, and then once that's on, then you can put this bracket back on, snug it up.

The engine air filter is located right here in this airbox, and it's very simple to do. You have four screws around the perimeter of the airbox, take those out. You're gonna use a T25 to get those out. Loosen them up, then lift this cover up and grab the filter, pull it out, put the new one in, you're good to go. The wiper blades. Now, normally there's two little tabs on the backside of these blades. You got to push in those tabs, rock the blade out this way, and then it slides it off. These ones are a little bit different. Push down on this button right here, slide this back, and then this slides down and slips out like that. So, normally you're going to have it and you're going to tip it out like that. Install the blades the same way you took them off, whether it's that way or this way, lock them down. We're going to do same on the driver's side.

The cabin filter. It's located over here on the passenger side, right under this panel. And it's fairly easy. All you have to do is take this bolt out, use a quarter-inch socket, take that out, slide the cover down, and it slides out. And then the cabin filter slides down, but it also goes...it has bends in it so you need to kinda curl it when you take it out. When you put the new one in, you have to do the same thing, start over here, and it kinda curls and almost like a zipper, it zippers right up in there, Put this cover back on, put the bolt back in, and you're all set. So there's some things that you can do yourself on your GMC 3500 HD.
