Here's Volkswagen oil dipstick replacement. The actual replacing, obviously, is not too difficult, but let's talk about why you might want to replace it. There were a few different issues. You may have had the top here separate from the stick itself. Also, on many cars, and 2.5 liters in particular, Volkswagen had a technical service bulletin basically stating that the dipstick was too long. You can see our dipstick is about basically a quart shorter than the VW one. This caused people, when you fill it full or maybe it was just slightly low, your low oil level light would come on because the dipstick was the wrong size. Either whether you've had your dipstick broken, occasionally these get dropped and run over and bent, you don't want to use a bent dipstick, as well. New one from 1A Auto will go in, read correctly, and replace your dipstick.
