In this video, we're going to show you the procedure and benefits of a locking gas cap and the only thing you're going to need is a new locking gas cap from 1AAuto.com. We have here a 2008 Dodge Ram.

We're going to install a locking gas cap. Now, obviously the installation's probably not that difficult, but we're going to show you anyways. Good idea on a vehicle like this, the cap is kind of out and exposed, even when you lock the vehicle. Somebody can still get at your cap and contaminate your fuel tank.

Remove your old cap and you can remove the lanyard too, if you like. Then, locking cap's pretty easy, go into place until it clicks. Then, it won't unclick, no matter what you do. You install the key, turn it, and it'll come off.

Final part of the installation, one not to forget, is to make sure you secure your gas cap keys with your car keys. Once you have the new one installed, I advise that you keep your old one. Put it in a safe place. It's just nice to have an extra around if you need it.
