Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the front differential on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7. The items you'll need for this is a 3/8 inch ratchet, a drip pan, and 75 W90 gear oil.
Your front differential is located right here. This is the filler cap and this is your drain plug. Using a 3/8 inch ratchet, you just want to remove that drain plug. Make sure you have a drip pan underneath it. Obviously you can see we have our vehicle up on a lift but there is enough ground clearance on this vehicle that you do it on the ground. Clean off your drain plug. Then replace it and tighten it up with that 3/8 inch ratchet.
Now remove the filler cap. Now replace the gear oil. A little may start dripping out because it's hitting that gear, but you'll know it's full when it starts really gushing out.
Okay, then replace the cap. Then just tighten it up with your 3/8 inch ratchet. You're all set.
