Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the driver's side wiper arm on this 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. It's the same process on the passenger's side, and it's the same process on pretty much any 2000 to 2002 GMC and Chevy truck. The only tools you'll need include a small flat blade screwdriver, 13mm socket and ratchet, and some penetrating oil.
Use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry off the cap and that exposes a 13mm nut. You want to disconnect the washer hose and remove that 13mm bolt. Next, what you want to do is push the windshield wiper down just to try to loosen it up a little bit, and then spray some penetrating oil onto the bolt there. That'll help to get this off. After it sits for a little while, then you want to push on it some more and that should actually just pop the arm right off.
Now, to remove the wiper blade, push that switch and just pull the wiper right off. You can see here the old wiper arm and the new wiper arm from 1A Auto. It's an exact replacement.
Just put the wiper blade onto the new wiper arm. You just want to push the wiper arm back into place, and then you want to replace that nut and tighten it. Then you're going to put the cap back on and reconnect your washer hose.
Now, you want to test your windshield wipers. Make sure the washer hose is connected correctly and that they're lined up properly. If they're not, you're going to want to remove that nut and realign the wiper arm, and then you should be all set.
