How to Replace Windshield Wiper Arms 2007-11 Honda CR-V

step 1 :Removing the Wiper Arm
- Mark the position of the wiper arm's location on the windshield with painter's tape
- Pry up the end cap with a pick
- Remove the 17mm nut from the wiper arm
- Loosen the arm by applying pressure on and off
- Remove the wiper arm

step 2 :Installing the Wiper Arm
- Insert the wiper arm into place and align the blades with the marking on the windshield
- Tighten the 17mm nut to the arm
- Torque the nut to 21.6 foot-pounds
- Press the end cap onto the arm

Today we're going to remove the wiper transmission and access the wiper motor. I've already taken the hood off. You do not have to do that, but I'm doing that so that you guys have a clearer vision from the video so you could see everything that I do out in the open.
I'm going to remove the wiper cap. I'm just going to get in there and give it a little pry up. It will expose the mounting nut for that arm to the transmission. That is the wiper motor transmission. This should be a 17 millimeter nut, or you could use a 17 millimeter wrench. I'm going to break that free. Sometimes I'll hold on to the arm and break that. I'm going to take the nut off, and I'll show you how to remove that wiper arm.
This is where you're going to pull the arm up at the pivot point, and we're going to move that back and forth. Just slide it right off. Same procedure for the second arm, which is the passenger wiper blade. I'm going to remove the cover. If you're vertically challenged, just hang in there, you'll get it.
So, you can't mix up the driver's arm from the passenger arm. The passenger arm is the most elongated on with that curve to it. You'll know when they go back on. That's the position they're going to be in.
Now we're going to reinstall the wiper arms, passenger side first. I'm just going to make sure that when I lower that, it's in the position on the glass where I want it to be, and it is, so good. I can get the mounting nut.
Now I'm going to hand start the wiper arm mounting nut. I'm going to install the driver's one next, and then I'm going to torque these down to 21.6 foot-pounds. I'm going to slide it down over that regulator and line it up in its place. Snug the nut by hand. Go ahead and get ready to torque it. This is a 17 millimeter socket. Now I'm clear to put the rubber caps on. Let's go inside, put the key on, and let's see if they work.
