Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the washer level sensor on this 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. The only items you'll need for this repair is a 10mm socket, ratchet, and a flat blade screwdriver.
Start off by disconnecting your washer pump harness. Using a flat blade screwdriver, just push the tab and pull the harness up. Then push the tab on the harness back there and disconnect that as well. Now you want to remove this 10mm bolt right here and this 10mm bolt right down here. We'll just fast-foward as Don removes those.
Now push the washer bottle towards the center of the vehicle, then lift it up and out. Now just pry this washer hose off, cover the hole on the pump, and then drain out your washer fluid into a bottle. Then you just want to pry out your level sensor with a flat blade screwdriver.
Then take your new one and push it into the bottle. Now push this gasket down into this hole. Then push the washer bottle back and onto that stud. Replace those two 10mm bolts. Reconnect your washer hose and the harness for the washer pump. Then reconnect this harness back here. Replace the washer fluid in your bottle and you're all set.
