Okay, friends. It's time to get started on installing our window crank. If you were to turn it over, you're gonna see right along the back, it's two pieces. Take a nice, small pocket screwdriver, come right in between these two areas, and then, just gently pry. We wanna try to pry and separate these two, and I'll show you why. As I separate them, I'm gonna go ahead and lift and give it a twist, and you're gonna see there's a screw. This is your mounting screw. We're gonna need a Torx bit to install it onto our vehicle, so here we go.
To get this off of here, we need to get the outer plastic out of the way. As you saw in the other one, it's much easier to get from the backside. With that said, I wanna carefully come in between here and there and just see if I can pry it. I'm gonna do the same thing on this one, down on the lower area. Now, I can pull this, and we can get to that mounting screw.
So now, let's just pay attention to the direction that this is facing in. That's the way that we want it to go back together when we put on the new one. So now, we're gonna use a bit that looks like this. This is a T20. It looks like a star. And you need a nice, long one like this because it has to get down into the hole. Loosen this up, I'll completely remove the screw, and then we'll get this right off. There it is.
Now, it's gonna be time to install our new crank handle. You wanna make sure that you reuse this piece right here. I'm just gonna put it right like that, and I'll line this up in the same direction that it was when I removed it. Put in your brand new screw. We'll go ahead and snug this right up. Okay, that's nice and snug. Bring this up. All right. And now, let's test it. Perfect.
