Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the evap purge solenoid on this 2005 GMC Savana 2500. It's similar on a large variety of GM models. The only tools that you're going to need for this are a flat blade screwdriver and some wire cutters.

To start off, we're just going to show you where you find this in between the door and the gas tank on this van. It's right under here. You look up, it's right here.

The first thing that you want to do is take your wire cutters and just clip off that wire tie. Then you can remove this cover. For now, because it's behind it, you can tuck it up. Pull that harness out, it just pulls right out.

Now, using a flat blade screwdriver, you want to push the clip down and slide the solenoid back, and it should come right off. Now, what you want to do is just disconnect the hose here. You can see here, new part from 1A Auto on the right, old part on the left. They're identical in every way, same mounting clip, and everything.

What you want to do is just put that cover back on to it. It just fits right on, and then you want to put it up back underneath the car.

You just want to angle that clip onto the clip underneath the van. It can be a little difficult because of the box there, but if you just pull that back, eventually once you get it lined up, you just twist it in and it should just slide right there.

Now what you want to do, reconnect the harness and that hose, and now you can put a wire tie so that cover stays on. Then you're all set.
