How To Replace Throttle Body 2000-07 Chevy Monte Carlo

step 1 :Removing the Air Intake Hose
- Remove the vacuum hose from the air intake hose
- Disconnect the wiring harness
- Loosen the two hose clamps with a flat blade screwdriver
- Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body and air box

step 2 :Removing the Throttle Body
- Remove the three 10mm bolts from the throttle body bracket
- Disconnect the two wiring harnesses
- Slide back the two coolant hose clamps
- Push the coolant hose back
- Remove the 13mm nut from the throttle body
- Remove the two 13mm bolts from the throttle body
- Disconnect the cable from the throttle body
- Lift the throttle body up and out

step 3 :Installing the Throttle Body
- Attach the latch cable to the top of the throttle body
- Insert the throttle body into place
- Tighten the two 13mm bolts to the throttle body
- Insert the coolant hoses in place
- Tighten the coolant hose clamps
- Tighten the 13mm nut to the throttle body
- Insert the throttle body bracket into place
- Insert the three 10mm bolts to the bracket
- Connect the wiring harnesses

step 4 :Reinstalling the Air Intake Hose
- Insert the air intake hose in place
- Tighten the two hose clamps with a flat blade screwdriver
- Connect the vacuum hose and make sure it's connected to the engine
- Connect the wiring harness

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the throttle body on this 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo with the 3.4-liter V6 engine. The items you'll need for this are a 10mm and 13mm socket and ratchet, a flat blade screwdriver, and a pair of pliers.
Now just pull up on this hose, disconnect this harness, and then loosen up these two hose clamps. Now, pull this hose free from the engine, and then pull this hose free from your intake box. Just set that aside.
Next, remove those two 10mm bolts and this 10mm nut right here. Now pull this bracket down and set it aside. Then pull out on this harness, pull it free, and do the same with this harness. Then push the tabs together on this hose clamp and slide it back and do the same for the hose clamp on the other side. Now just push that hose back.
Then remove that 13mm nut right there. Then you want to remove that 13mm bolt and this 13mm stud bolt right here. We'll fast-forward as Mike does that. Now pull up this cable and you just want to disconnect it from the top here. Then just lift your throttle body up and out.
Take your throttle body with the upper bolt in place and then take this bracket and re-clip the wire to the top of the throttle body, and then just run it down the track. Then push the throttle body back into place. Then just tighten up this bolt. Now we'll fast-forward as Mike replaces the other bolts that hold the throttle body into place and tightens them up.
Now push these hoses back onto this line, and just push the teeth together on the hose clamps and slide them back down into place. Then we'll fast-forward as Mike replaces the nut that holds that line into place and tightens it up. Now take this bracket and put it back into place and replace the nut and two bolts that hold it into place. Reconnect your harnesses. Then take your intake hose and push it back onto the mass airflow sensor first and then down and onto the throttle body. Then just tighten up those hose clamps and you want to make sure that the hose is all the way on before you do that.
When you disconnected this line earlier, there's a good chance that it came free so just make sure that when you reconnect it up here that it's still connected back behind the engine there. It just pushes right back into place.
