How to Replace Third Brake Light Bulb 08-12 Ford Escape

  1. step : Removing the Third Brake Light (0:30)
    • Remove the Phillips screws from the housing
    • Open the lift glass
    • Pry up the third brake light housing with a trim tool
    • Pry the third brake light out
    • Disconnect the hose with a trim tool or flat blade screwdriver
    • Disconnect the wiring harness
  2. step : Servicing the Driver Side Tail Light Bulb (1:35)
    • Remove the back bulb container from the assembly with a pick
    • Pull the bulb straight off of the socket
    • With gloves on, press the new 194 bulb to the socket
    • Press the bulb container to the brake light
  3. step : Installing the Third Brake Light (3:09)
    • Connect the wiring harness to the third brake light housing
    • Connect the washer hose to the third brake light housing
    • Insert the third brake light into place
    • Close the lift glass
    • Tighten the Phillips screws to the third brake light
