How to Replace Taillight Bulbs 2010-15 Toyota Prius

Change the turn signal bulb or the backup light bulb. You'll open the hatch. There's an access panel inside the hatch just back here. Simply pull the tab down. Pull it right out. You can see the two bulbs and sockets right here. The lower one is the backup light bulb.

You're going to turn it counterclockwise to unlock it, then just kind of pull it straight out. Wires don't seem like they're long enough but there's enough slack that it'll actually pull out with you. So that is a 744 bulb. It just pulls out.

This one's in good shape, so we'll reuse it. Put it right back in to replace it. Put it right back in the opening and then just lock it. Turned it clockwise and it locked right in place. I'm just going to push the wires back in. Perfect.

Top bulb is the turn signal bulb. Going to turn it counterclockwise to unlock it. Pull it right out. So this is an Amber 7440 bulb. Pull is straight out. This one's in good shape, so we're going to reuse it. Plug it back in. Right back in the opening. Turn it clockwise to lock it in place. Now that we've done that we can replace the cover. The bulbs are replaced.
